CATS director Dan Walczyk joins Albany Business Review’s Table of Experts for a discussion on the state of the manufacturing industry and the benefits of working with CATS.
Dr. Walczyk made a strong argument for an increase in state funding to New York’s 15 Centers for Advanced Technology. These centers work with businesses large and small to innovate product development, improve manufacturing, impact profitability and grow jobs. With a 40-to-1 documented return on investment, this has been money well spent by the State, but has not been increased in over 30 years.
Glenn Saunders, senior research engineer in Rensselaer's Center for Automation Technologies and Systems, discusses robotics, robot operating software (ROS), and the future of the intelligent factory in the January 2017 edition of Control Engineering.
